French Open live stream: How to watch Roland Garros 2022 online and on TV

The French Open airs live on NBC Sports, Peacock Premium and Tennis Channel through championships points at Roland Garros in Paris.

NBC and Peacock air live coverage on Memorial Day weekend, then the women’s and men’s singles semifinals and finals next week.

Follow live updates from the French Open as round one continues on the third day of play at Roland Garros, with Daniil Medvedev opening his campaign against Facundo Bagnis. The US Open champion and Australian Open finalist has the chance to regain his spot at World No 1 if he advances further than Novak Djokovic in Paris, although the Russian is not best-suited to the clay and is still making his way back from an injury lay-off.

Medvedev returned to action in Geneva last week, his only appearance on the clay this season, but was defeated by Richard Gasquet in straight sets in the opening round. Today he faces Bagnis, the world No 103, in the opening match on Court Suzanne-Lenglen. Later on, last year’s French Open finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas faces a tougher first-round match against 20-year-old Italian Lorenzo Musetti.

Paula Badosa, Aryna Sabalenka and Simona Halep star on the women’s side of the draw, while home favourite Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will look to upset the No 8 seed Casper Ruud on what is set to be his final appearance at the French Open. Follow all the action and scores from Roland Garros, below:

Rafael Nadal, a record 13-time French Open champion, did not enter as the clear men’s favorite after not winning a clay-court lead-up tournament for the first time since 2015, not including the pandemic-shortened 2020 year. The 35-year-old has also dealt with persistent foot pain.

Instead, defending champion Novak Djokovic began as the slight favorite over 19-year-old countryman Carlos Alcaraz, according to PointsBet Sportsbook. Djokovic eyes a 21st Grand Slam singles title to tie Nadal for the men’s record.

Alcaraz, who is the same age as Nadal was when Nadal won his first French Open, won his last two tournaments, including beating Nadal and Djokovic on back-to-back days on May 6-7.

Top-ranked Iga Swiatek of Poland is the overwhelming women’s favorite, entering on a 28-match win streak, the WTA Tour’s longest since 2013. Swiatek broke through to win the 2020 French Open, then last month ascended to the No. 1 ranking for the first time after Australian Ash Barty retired.

Three-time French Open champion Serena Williams, who last played at Wimbledon last June, will miss Roland Garros for the first time since 2017. It’s unknown if or when the 40-year-old will play again.

You can catch live action from Roland Garros on Eurosport 1 - Sky channel 410, BT 435, Virgin 521. Coverage starts from 10.30am, with Eurosport 2 (Sky 411, BT 436, Virgin 522) from 11am.

You can live stream the action on Discovery+, a subscription is £6.99 per month or £59.99 annually on Sky, Amazon Prime Video channels, Roku and Vodafone. With the app available on the following devices: LG Smart TV, Samsung Smart TVs and Amazon Fire TV.

Paris' Stade Roland-Garros will play host to an intriguing 2022 French Open, featuring 64 seeded players across the men's and women's draws, plus wilds cards and direct entrants.

If Rafael Nadal's foot injury doesn't hobble him up, he could face world number one Novak Djokovic in the quarter-finals. Elsewhere, there's a lot of buzz about young gun Carlos Alcaraz; could the 19-year-old score a Grand Slam title on only his second ever French Open appearance? Britain's Cameron Norrie, currently ranked 11th, will also be hoping for to reach the final stages of the tournament.

Iga Swiatek, who recently clinched the Italian Open title and ascended to world no.1, is hot favourite for the women's title. The 20-year-old is currently on a 28-match winning streak. Reigning champion Barbora Krejcikova is set to defend her title but Britain's Emma Raducanu doesn't look in the best of form for her first-ever Roland-Garros appearance.

In the US, the French Open is once again split between NBC Sports, Peacock Premium and the Tennis Channel (schedule below).

The first round round matchups are set as the men's and women's singles draws for the French Open were announced on Thursday. Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz are all on the same side of the bracket. If things work out as expected, the top seed and defending champion Djokovic could face Nadal in the quarterfinal round. This would be a good opportunity for Nadal -- a 13-time French Open champion -- to make Djokovic pay for defeating him in last year's semifinals.

Serena Williams will not be playing in the French Open for first time since 2017. She has not played since last June when she suffered an ankle injury at Wimbledon. The 2022 French Open begins on Friday, May 22, 2022 (5/27/22) with the first round of the competition at Roland Garros in Paris, France.cxvxcxc
