Warriors vs Mavericks live start time, streaming and updates: Game 4 preview, odds and predictions

The Golden State Warriors came out and made a statement in their Game 1 demolition of the Dallas Mavericks. Interestingly, Golden State did the most damage on the defensive end of the floor while holding Luka Doncic to just 20 points on 6-of-18 shooting. The Warriors contested everything, with Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green doing the most damage on Doncic.

Who was the guy? Andrew Wiggins AND Steph Curry. That’s right, I’m picking two different Golden State Warriors for this Game 3 victory over the Dallas Mavericks. Curry was his usual brilliant self with 31 points, 11 assists and five rebounds; he hit half of his shots and half of his 3-pointers. Dallas blitzed him to try to take the ball out of his hands, and he kept finding ways to get it back and plunge another dagger into the Mavs. As for Wiggins, he made big play after big play. His defense on Luka Dončić has been tremendous, making Dončić work for everything even when he knocks down shots. On top of that, Wiggins’ ability to attack closeouts, grab massive offensive rebounds and continue to make plays on offense has been a huge bonus. He finished with 27 points, 11 rebounds and three assists Sunday.

DALLAS — Steph Curry had just invited another scrambling double-team and sent another laser-beam pass through a dying Dallas defense. It nailed Draymond Green for Curry’s 11th assist.

The Green layup put the Warriors up 11 as the clock ticked under two minutes. The game and the Mavericks’ legitimate chances of winning the series were fading. A 3-0 series lead in the West finals had essentially been clinched. A moment of relaxation seemed warranted for the Warriors.

The evolution Andrew Wiggins has given the Warriors a major boost

DALLAS — All that was left for Andrew Wiggins was a big performance like this. A coronation of his induction into the franchise’s core. It can only happen in the NBA playoffs, where Warriors are fashioned. Sunday was a crescendo of his adoption into the fold. Fittingly, it came on the road, where the Warriors have now won at least once in 26 straight postseason series. Road playoff greatness is the finest quality.

Wiggins had been stacking moments throughout this postseason, thriving in the dirty work and spearheading the defense. But in Game 3, he popped through with 27 points and 11 rebounds as the Warriors took a 3-0 lead in the Western Conference finals with a 109-100 win. His new signature game — punctuated by his new signature play.

Warriors' forward Otto Porter Jr. will miss Game 4 with left foot injury

Warriors reserve forward Otto Porter Jr. will miss Tuesday's Game 4 of the Western Conference finals at Dallas with a left foot injury, coach Steve Kerr said. Porter left Game 3 with the injury. The Warriors lead the series 3-0.

“He’s still sore," Kerr said. "Gotta make the wise decision here. This gives him a couple of days to prepare for a possible Game 5.”

The Mavericks season could be coming to an end sooner than most thought

The Dallas Mavericks are nearing this season’s end.

It’s difficult finding the right balance for the Mavericks’ 3-0 deficit against Golden State this series. So many things are true at once. Dallas is ahead of schedule, but it conceivably could have won Sunday, certainly Friday. This team is talented enough to be competitive in this series, but not more talented than its opponent. soc
